India’s premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been sidelined from the forthcoming home series against Sri Lanka. Pandya has been advised to rest after having an injury scare in the last T20 game played against New Zealand. BCCI also made the move as all-rounder has played a lot of competitive cricket across all three formats this year. Sanju Samson will lead Board President’s XI against Sri Lanka in the warm-up game as per the announced made by BCCI.
The selection committee has been in discussion with team management and has made a call to rest all-rounder Hardik Pandya for the home series against Sri Lanka. Due to intensive work load this year, selectors have decided to give Pandya much needed rest before the big tour to South Africa. He is all to go through period of recuperation and conditioning in Bengaluru in the National Cricket Academy.
Hardik Pandya has been integral part of the India’s limited overs setup and has produced scintillating performances in the home series against Australia. India will surely will be hoping that he will fit and raring to go in the upcoming series in South Africa.
BCCI also made an announcement as Sanju Samson will lead the President Board’s XI in the practice game against Sri Lanka after Naman Ojha was injured and has been ruled out of the game. The squad includes Anmolpreet Singh as replacement for Ojha for the game against Sri Lanka.
