Australia finally will tour Bangladesh to play two-match test series in the month of August. The national selector for Australian Cricket Team Trevor Hohns said 13-member squad has been picked for the tour. Mitchell Starc has been rested for the series but Ashton Agar has picked ahea of Steven O’Keefe who did well in India but has been dropped due to inconsistency shown in the last three games on the tour. Ashton has done well in Shield cricket and has been presented with an opportunity to cement his place in the lineup. The left-arm orthodox spinner has been billed to be promising cricket and made an impact in test cricket by scoring 99 coming in at 10 in Nottingham in First test of Ashes series played in 2013.
Shaun Marsh also faced the axe while Usman Khuwaja has been retained in the squad for the tour despite not playing for Australia in the test matches in India. Hilton Cartwright has picked for the tour as Mitchell Marsh has not fully recovered from injury. Cartwright is a top quality all-rounder who has averaged almost 60 in this season of Shield cricket and has been picked to showcase his all-round on the tour to Bangladesh.
Australia earlier had cancelled their tour to Bangladesh after riots in the country at the time saw the visitors abandon the trip due to security reasons.
