All-rounder Ben Cutting has signed for Sydney Thunder for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. With this move, Ben Cutting has ended his nine-year association with Brisbane Heat. He is recent player to move out of Queensland based franchise that is going for a complete overhaul for the coming season.
Ben Cutting will join the likes of Callum Ferguson and Usman Khuwaja for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. He said that it was he had one year left with Brisbane Heat but past couple of season have been far from ideal. Cutting stated that it was right time to part ways with Brisbane Heat.
The 33-year old expressed his pleasure of joining Sydney Thunder due to strong team culture. He said that he will be looking to contribute with bat and ball for Sydney Thunder for the coming BBL season.
Sydney Thunder Head Coach Shane Bond said that Ben Cutting is certainly one of the dangerous all-rounders in the Big Bash League. He has the ability to hit the ball a long way and score quick runs at the back end of the innings.
With Cutting departure from Brisbane Heat, Chris Lynn is the only experienced player left in the franchise overall setup. Earlier, Matt Renshaw signed for Adelaide Strikers, whereas pacer James Pattinson might be signed by Melbourne Renegades for the coming season of Big Bash League.
Brisbane Heat has made some serious deals and signed up players like Tom Cooper and Jack Wildermuth for the coming season. The duo played for Melbourne Renegades last year. The franchise is interested in bringing AB De Villiers back for the coming season. AB De Villiers also expressed his desire to play another season with Brisbane heat.
But AB De Villiers might not be available for the coming BBL season as his wife is due to give birth towards the end of the year.
