England have named their 16-member squad for the upcoming one-day series against England. Ben Duckett and Dawid Malan make their return to the limited-overs squad for the five-match one-day series. Alex Hales has been dropped from the one-day squad after failing a drug Test. James Vince has been named as a replacement for Hales for the one-day series.
Opening batsman Jason Roy did suffer a back spasm while playing for Surrey against Essex in the Royal London One-Day game. He will not take part in the one-off T20 game against Pakistan. The team management is hopeful that Roy can regain full fitness for the one-day series that starts from 8th May.
Nottinghamshire batsman Ben Duckett has played only three one-day games for England in 2016. He made his limited-overs debut for England against Bangladesh. Middle-order Dawid Malan will be looking to make an impression with the bat in this five-match one-day series.
James Vince has been in exceptional form for Hampshire in the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup competition. He will be looking to make an impact with the bat for England in this one-day series. The 28-year old has scored 490 runs for Hampshire so far in this year’s competition.
England will first take on Ireland in the one-off ODI game that will be played at Malahide in Dublin on 3rd May. They will then play Pakistan in the one-off T20 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Sunday.
The opening game of the one-day series will be played at the Oval on 8th May. The home side will be keen to start their home season on decent note.
