England pacer Jake Ball ruled out of the first Test against South Africa

England pacer Jake Ball is ruled out of the opening Test series against South Africa due to strain in his knee. The young fast bowler did sustain an injury while playing first class game in the County Championship last week for Nottinghamshire and joins the likes of Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad on the bench for the opening game of the series.

His injury will be assessed by medical staff as he was unable to take any further part in the game on the third day of the day-night game.The tall right arm quick is set to miss to be out for two weeks and will be not pleased after being a permanent fixture in the England lineup since making his debut against Pakistan at Lords last year.

The 26-year old will be keen to make rapid progress and return to international fold for England soon. Jake Ball did play in the one day series against South Africa and ICC Champions Trophy for England.
