Former West Indies Captain Darren Sammy hopeful to see cricket return to Pakistan

West Indies World T20 winner Darren Sammy stated that he is ready to play a leading role in bringing cricket back to Pakistan. He is included in the World XI squad that is scheduled to play Pakistan in the three-match T20 series.

The side held a practice session at Dubai before their trip to Pakistan. While speaking to the press, Sammy stated that everyone was up for the challenge to bring cricket to a country that has suffered isolation in the sporting arena. He said that the event is bigger than just T20 series and is a big step towards revival of cricket in Pakistan.

Sammy was the player who played the final of Pakistan Super League staged at Lahore. He led the Peshawar Zalmi side to lift their maiden trophy by defeating Quetta Gladiators. He said that he has fond memories of his last visit to Pakistan and shared his experiences with the World XI squad.World XI is set to play the first game of the three-match T20 series at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on 12th September.
