Left-arm quick has signed for Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. George Garton claimed 10 wickets from nine outings in the inaugural The Hundred while playing for Southern Brave. He was instrumental in helping Southern Brave win the title.
Garton stated that he is pleased to sign for Adelaide Strikers; a club which has won the coveted BBL trophy for one occasion. Earlier George Garton was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League
Garton will be pleased to join Jason Gillespie, who is head coach for Adelaide Strikers this season. With Michael Neser may miss the BBL season due to international duties for Australia. Left-arm quick has been signed as a replacement for Michael Neser for the upcoming BBL season.
George Garton has the ability to swing the new-ball, which is quite beneficial for a side in the T20 format. He is aggressive lower-order batter who can hit the ball a long distance. He is also a great fielder in the outfield at the moment.
After signing for Adelaide Strikers, George Garton will be looking to make an impact for the franchise in his debut BBL season.
Since making his debut for Sussex in 2016, he has played 44 matches, in which he has taken 49 wickets at an average of 21.26 with an economy rate of 8.28. He has picked up three four-wicket hauls in his T20 career.
George Garton will be looking to make an impact with the ball for Adelaide Strikers in the upcoming edition of Big Bash League. The pitches in Australia will certainly suit his style of the bowling as well. He will be looking to showcase his bowling skills against top franchises like Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers.
Adelaide Strikers will play their first BBL match against Melbourne Stars on 7th December.
