West Indies have announced their one-day squad for the five-match series against England. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels are included in the squad after a long hiatus. Gayle last appeared for West Indies in the 2015 World Cup game, while Samuels played against Pakistan in UAE last year.
Pace bowler Jerome Taylor also makes his return to the squad after last playing for West Indies in 2016. Uncapped Sunil Ambris has been selected for the series after doing well for Guyana but Dwayne Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite and Darren Bravo have yet to find a place in the squad. The selection committee head Courtney Browne stated that both Dwayne and Darren Bravo have ruled themselves out due to fitness issues.
West Indies off spinner Sunil Narine is set to play domestic 50-over cricket before making his case for a return intto the national side.The side has good players in Miguel Cummins, Shai Hope, Kesrick Williams and Marlon Samuels. The conclusion of Wisden Trophy will see West Indies play one-off T20 game before the start of the one day series from 19th September.
