Martin Guptill ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2017 due to hamstring injury

Martin Guptill has been ruled out of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2017 due to hamstring injury as right batsman aims to get fully fit for the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to be stage in England in month of June.

Guptill sustained hamstring injury on his both legs but came back strongly with the bat in hand to score 180 runs for New Zealand in the fourth one day game of the series. The right-handed batsman felt discomfort in his hamstring in the fourth game at Hamilton while batting against South Africa.

New Zealand Physio Tommy Simsek is the man entrusted to oversee Guptill’s rehabilitation process as he will go to India for Indian Premier League to play for Kings Punjab XI when he gets fit and ready for cricket.

New Zealand Head Coach Mike Hesson also said that it was imperative Martin Guptill recovers quickly from injury as he is important member of New Zealand one day team. Hesson stated that New Zealand will need a fit and in-form Guptill for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017 to be played in June in England.

Martin Guptill has been out of favor in the test arena after not performing well in South Africa and India but will keen to make amends in the coming season for New Zealand.
