Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made big announcement as they have made Sarfraz Ahmed as new Test Captain of the side. The wicket-keeper batsman is all set to lead Pakistan across all three formats. He led the side to an emphatic win in the finals of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against India to lift their maiden title in England.
Pakistan has shown dramatic rise in the one day cricket after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England. The side has been good in Test cricket for last five years as green shirts did go on to achieve many feats such as playing tremendous in England to level the four-match series and also becoming no.1 side in the world last year. PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan made the announcement after a dinner hosted for winning Pakistan side at Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Tuesday.
His first task in the Test arena will be three-match against Sri Lanka in UAE. Sarfraz Ahmed has an excellent record in the limited overs format in UAE, winning seven out of nine games as captain of the Pakistan side. Misbah-ul-Haq retired from Test cricket after Pakistan atlast won a series in the Caribbean played two months ago.
