Tamim Iqbal ruled out of second Test against South Africa due to thigh injury

Bangladesh has suffered a major setback as opener Tamim Iqbal will not play the second game of the series against South Africa that will start from 6th October. The left-handed opener suffered from thigh injury during the first game. The visitors are 1-0 down in the series and will sorely miss their main player in Tamim Iqbal who has been consistent run scorer in the format alongside Captain Mushfiqur Rahim. Soumya Sarkar is all set to replace Iqbal for the second game at Bloemfontein.

Tamim did not produce big scores in the first game of the series played at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. His absence will surely hurt Bangladesh as left-handed player has been instrumental for Bangladesh in helping them win crucial games against top sides like England in the format.

This is the first time that Bangladesh will play without their main players in the lineup such as Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan.
